Leonora Mackinnon got a BBO Girls under 14 epee bronze, which is excellent given that she is only 11. Leonora Mackinnon (under 13 girls) and Steve Williams (under 15 boys) both won bronze medals at the Eton LPJS

The team for this years World Cadet Championships in Korea should be Matthew Edgar, Oliver Baybut-Peyton and Newbury fencer, Ben White with Chris Harding as the non travelling reserve.

Tom Nickson takes part in the U18 British Youth Competition coming 37th

Ben White named in the England squad for the junior home internationals in Scotland in February - he is in the four man under 16 boys epee team. Ben won the LPJS under 15 boys epee series, following on from a bronze at Saturday's Whitgift competition.  

October 23rd 2005

On Sunday October 23rd, Tom Nickson wins bronze at in the Southern Region U18 boys competition, qualifying for the BYC.

October 1st and 2nd 2005

2 October.  Newbury win three golds at the BBO foil championships – Emma Towers (women’s foil), Tom Nickson (under 18 boys foil) and Leonora Mackinnon (under 12 girls foil).  Paul Nickson, Cristoph Cheshire, James Ballantyne and Stephen Williams all fence well but finish out of the medals.

1 October.  Ben White wins bronze in men’s epée at the Manchester Cadet Competition held at the Bolton Arena.

25 September.  Ben White wins award for the top cadet in the men’s epée at the Shropshire Open, in Telford.

 

July 2005

 

17 July.  Ben White wins bronze in the men’s epée at the Norfolk Open, in Norwich.

 

June 2005

 

5 June.  Ben White wins gold in the under 15 boys epée at the Scotland round of the Leon Paul Junior Series.

4 June.  Ben Peggs wins silver in the under 15 boys foil at the Scotland round of the Leon Paul Junior Series.  Ben White comes 5th in an international under 14 boys epée competition in Luxembourg, losing 10-9 in the quarter finals.

15 May.  Ben Peggs wins bronze in the under 15 boys foil at the Wrexham round of the Leon Paul Junior Series.

7 May.  Leonora Mackinnon wins bronze in the under 11 girls foil at the Bristol round of the Premier Series. 

 

April 2005

 

30 April.  Ben Peggs wins bronze in the under 15 boys foil at the Cornwall round of the Leon Paul Junior Series.

23 April.  Ben White wins gold in the under 15 boys epée at the Warwick round of the Leon Paul Junior Series, beating Rhys Melia 15-11 in the final.

10 April.  Ben White wins silver in the under 15 boys epée at the Arnold round of the Leon Paul Junior Series, losing 15-14 to Rhys Melia in the final.

16 March.  Ben White and Ben Peggs, representing their schools, win gold and bronze respectively in the boys under 14 foil competition at the Public Schools Championships at Crystal Palace.

13 March.  Ben Peggs wins bronze in the under 15 boys foil at the Ashton round of the Leon Paul Junior Series.

 

February 2005

 

19 February.  Ben White comes 10th in the under 14 boys epée at the British Youth Championships at Stoke on Trent.

13 February.  Ben Peggs is part of the winning under 18 BBO boys foil team in the Southern Region triangular match.

12 February.  Ben Peggs wins silver in the under 15 boys foil at the Sherwood round of the Leon Paul Junior Series.

5 February.  Ben White wins gold at the Wiltshire under 14 boys foil competition, held at Dauntsey’s School.

 

January 2005

 

30 January.  Leonora Mackinnon wins bronze in the under 11 girls foil at the Farnham round of the Premier Series.  Ben Peggs wins silver at the BBO senior men’s foil event at Ryeish Green and Ben White wins gold at the BBO under 16 boys epée.

23 January.  Newbury’s three representatives at the British Youth Championships at Stoke on Trent do well.  In the under 16 boys foil category, Ben Peggs comes 13th and Tom Nickson 44th.  Ben White wins a silver medal at the under 14 boys foil competition.

16 January.  Ben White is part of the 16 strong GB Boys Cadet Epée team at an international competition in Dinant, Belgium.

9 January.  Ben White wins gold in the under 15 boys epée at the inaugural West Dorset round of the Leon Paul Junior Series.

 

December 2004

 

18/19 December.  Ben Peggs (foil) and Ben White (epée) are part of the Southern Region team at the Cadet Winton inter-regional competition held at Millfield School.

11/12 December.  Ben White is part of the 16 strong GB Boys Cadet Epée team at an international competition in Castelnau-le-Lez, France.
